Change and Consequences

Changing your ways is honorable. Especially if you led a life of ill repute. However, this doesn’t mean that the consequences for past deeds will vanish. Quite often I have listened a young adult or older teen lament his circumstances. He is upset because he has changed his ways but the past caught up to him.

Perhaps a friend rolled over on him for a past sin and now he is facing the possibility of an arrest or even prosecution. He is incredulous that this should happen because after all he has changed. The sobering truth is that whether our stripes have changed or not unlawful actions are just that unlawful.
